Overpriced about describes the park. The grass sites are narrow and a little hard to pull into. It is okay for an overnight but would not want to extend. Some areas have trees making satellite useless, although there is air reception. Laundry is extremely limited so other plans are needed. Regardless of the price, etc.: the part where most short-time guests are parked, fills by about 3PM.
We have been here for a few days. Had I read the reviews regarding the power I might have stayed elsewhere but with cool temps the power on the rivers edge sites has been running 115 to 122. All the sites along the river are occupied. Unable to say if there has been an improvement on the power but this time it has not been a concern. Park is in good condition. There is no drinking water available at the dump stations nor is there a way to hook a hose to flush your tanks. The drinking water hose there is only good if you have a way to pour water into your tank. We would likely return here if in the area again. We stayed several nights and normally quiet unless jets are using the airport across the water from the park. This noise is normally limited in time and during waking hours. Some sites a bit close and most are back-ins. Appeared some sites could have a problem if there was heavy rain. There is one dump station but they run a honey wagon for a fee. The park gets noisy on the weekends due to the infusion of kids camping with adults and overall increased traffic. We would likely return if in the area.

This is a well-maintained county park across the highway from Lake Huron. Interior roads are solid and maintained as needed. Some sites are 50-amp but most are 30-amp. The office has posted hours but those should be considered as ‘suggested hours’. Many sites are seasonal with a large number being used by people returning year after year. Harbor Beach is mostly a quiet town with limited nightlife. Stores such as Wal-Mart are in Bad Axe to the west. The park is on the highway but we did not have much traffic noise during the day at our site by the highway. At night traffic is almost nothing. There is an extra fee for cable that is needed as air reception is very limited. There was a registration fee charged when we called in and left our name for a site we were coming to occupy that evening. Not sure if this is charged for walk-in traffic. We would consider this park as a seasonal location in the future.
